District boys basketball
8A-8, Sarasota Riverview 65, East Lake 54:
The Eagles jumped out to a 9-0 lead and were ahead 19-16 at the end of the first quarter. But it was not enough as the Rams found their shooting touch in the second and third quarters to pull away. Trailing by 14 going into the fourth quarter, East Lake cut the deficit to six but was not able to get any closer. Jeremy Mogged and Blake Grimm each scored 19 for the Eagles.

3A-9, Shorecrest 77, Admiral Farragut 74 (OT): After allowing a fourth-quarter lead to slip away, the host Chargers bounced back in overtime to beat the Blue Jackets in the Class 3A, District 9 semifinals. Shorecrest led in each of the first three quarters thanks to the shooting of Luke Blume, who scored a team-high 30, including seven 3-pointers. Trailing 55-47, Admiral Farragut rallied by outscoring Shorecrest 24-16 in the fourth quarter to force overtime but was unable to keep the momentum. Alvin Cunningham led the Blue Jackets in scoring with 21.

2A-9, St. Petersburg Catholic 56, Indian Rocks Christian 55 (OT): In a tight game in which neither team managed more than a four-point lead, the Barons did just enough in overtime to edge the Golden Eagles in the Class 2A, District 9 semifinals. Both teams made 20 field goals and five 3-pointers. The difference was in free throws, where SPC held the edge 11-10. The Barons’ Ryan Green drove to the basket and drew fouls consistently. He hit 10-of-15 free throws and scored a team-high 25. Sean Culkin led IRC with 23 points.

2A-9, Sarasota Christian 70, Keswick Chr. 51: The Crusaders fell behind early in the Class 2A, District 9 final, trailing  41-17 at halftime. The Crusaders outscored the Blazers in the third and fourth quarters but it was not enough. Justen Del Grosso (18 points) and Taylor Angell (11) reached double figures for Keswick.
