Times’ volleyball super 7
1. Clearwater Central Catholic (3-0):
Marauders survived a five-game match against Calvary Christian this week. Now comes the Orlando Volleyball Academy tournament this weekend.
2. Palm Harbor University (7-2): Hurricanes lost to Sarasota Riverview in the finals of the Calvary tournament, but bounced back to beat Riverview in Tuesday’s district game. Also swept rival East Lake on Thursday.
3. St. Petersburg (7-4): It looks as if the Green Devils are going to be a little inconsistent this season. Lost to Manatee and Northside Christian this week, but there have been quality wins over PHU, Clearwater and Seminole.
4. Clearwater (7-3): Tornadoes can be awfully good when Sam Reeves, Allie Russell, Haley Barrett, Maddie Rubino and Caitlin Stoner get it cranking.
5. Calvary Christian (6-4): There is life after Rachel Mostert. The big hitter is gone, but the Warriors are fresh off a five game win over Holy Names. Also lost to CCC in five games.
6. Northside Christian (7-1): Logged impressive wins over St. Petersburg and Keswick Christian Thursday at the Keswick Invitational.
7. Seminole (6-5): Warhawks have a good front line, led by junior Samantha Schlesman. Coming off a five-game win over rival Osceola.
