Pinellas County super 7
1. East Lake (6-1): The Eagles struggled with its lineup during the first week, but seems to have found one. Defeated Palm Harbor U., then won the Academy of Holy Names tournament, which included wins over Plant and Bloomingdale.
2. Clearwater Central Catholic (4-0): Off to a quick start with wins over St. Petersburg, Shorecrest, Calvary Christian and Tampa Prep.
3. Tarpon Springs (8-1): Won the Keswick Invitational on Saturday, beating Indian Rocks Christian and St. Petersburg to claim the title.
4. Palm Harbor University (1-1): Lost a heartbreaker to East Lake in five games. Overall, that loss should make the ’Canes a better team.
5. Indian Rocks Christian (5-2): Only losses were to Tarpon Springs and Tampa Catholic.
6. St. Petersburg (5-3): Made the final of the Keswick Invitational and beat a pretty good Clearwater team. Tripped up against Seminole on Tuesday night.
7. Countryside (6-3): The Cougars are on a bit of a slide after losing to Clearwater on Tuesday. And I know, Tornadoes, keep it up and you’ll be ranked soon enough.
