Plant sophomore INF/RHP Jake Woodford has committed to Florida, becoming the third member of the Panthers' current roster to make pledge to the Gators in either an oral or written capacity.

Coach Dennis Braun confirmed the commitment Monday afternoon. Woodford joins UF signee Pete Alonso and sophomore P/OF Kyle Tucker (commit) as other UF commits. Oral commitments are non-binding

Woodford (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) made nine mound appearances as a freshman, winning both his decisions, notching two saves and posting a 3.17 ERA. In 17.2 innings, he struck out 15 and walked 10.

Last October, he was named to the all-tournament team for the Perfect Game-sponsored WWBA World Championship in Jupiter. In that event, he allowed two hits in four innings, fanning seven and walking two.
