After seeing two over conference rivals schools make Plant City junior defensive back Samuel Green a verbal scholarship offer, the hometown program wasn't going to be outdone.

USF joined Rutgers and Cincinnati as schools to offer the 6-foot, 180-pound Green.

Green averaged 9.2 tackles a game (101 total) and tallied 3 interceptions and 6 pass breakups for the Raiders last season.
