Plant City defensive end John Broome has committed to Florida International University, assistant coach Greg Meyer said Wednesday.

Broome finished the 2013 season with 58 tackles, 10 for loss, and a team-high 17 sacks. The Raiders finished 8-3 and lost to Sickles in the first round of the playoffs.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound defender also had offers from Florida A&M and Youngstown State, among others. Gaither quarterback Alex McGough is also committed to the Golden Panthers.
