Plant DL Mitchell Wright picked up his first BCS offer Wednesday night, courtesy of Boston College, Plant coach Robert Weiner said. Weiner is rather familiar with the Chestnut Hill, Mass., school as its his alma mater.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Wright recorded 73 total tackles (6.1 per game) for the Class 8A state champion Panthers (14-1). Wright also notched 10 sacks, three caused fumbles and one interception. His best game came in the state title game, as he recorded 14 total tackles and five sacks, both season highs, and caused a fumble as Plant beat previously undefeated Miramar 31-20.
Wright also holds an offer from UMass.
