Plant starts the 2012 season ranked No. 10 nationally in USA Today’s preseason top 25 poll, which was released today.

Here’s what USA Today has to say about the defending Class 8A state champs:

“Panthers won the 8A title, their fourth state title in six seasons, and could be better this season behind outstanding OLs Ray Raulerson, Richard Bush and Richy Klepal, a Florida State commit.”

No other area team made the list, but Florida teams came in at No. 1 (Miami Central) and No. 3 (Bradenton Manatee). No. 7 was Louisiana’s John Curtis – Plant’s out-of-state opponent next month.
