With the Feb. 1 National Signing Day less than three weeks away, here’s how recruiting is shaping up for the Class 8A state champion, Plant. Four Panthers have already selected their schools, and several others are weighing their options and waiting to hear from more programs.
Who's hot: DE Michael Dvornik, DB Keenan Stalls and WR Austin Aikens are drawing interest from Division I schools.
Potential targets: FB/LB Tate Rogers has been offered a walk-on opportunity by Furman and Vanderbilt. He’s also looking at Elon, SMU and The Citadel. OL Jonathan Haney is talking to The Citadel, VMI and is waiting to hear from Army and Navy. S Trey Holtz is planning to walk on at Texas. QB James Few, WR Daniel Casselli, and LB Mike Tate are getting looked at by a few Ivy League schools including Penn. Few has an offer from Cornell, and Tate has drawn interest from strong academic schools in BCS conferences. S David Lerom has interest from Davidson, Assumption and other Division II and III schools.
Commitments: WR Antonio Crawford (Georgia Tech) and S Drew Madhu (Stanford) both took visits to their perspective schools last weekend and enjoyed their trips. OL Nathan Shienle (Tulane) and Patrick Wright (Washington and Lee) are committed as well.
