Plant S Madhu will miss Armwood game

The disappointment on Plant senior safety Drew Madhu's face was obvious. Of all games to miss, this wasn't the one.

But Madhu, still recovering from a concussion sustained two weeks ago, said after Monday's practice that he will not play in Friday's game against Armwood -- the annual matchup between Tampa Bay's top high school football programs.

Madhu, a Stanford commit, was injured in Plant's 59-21 win over Brandon on Oct. 14 and hasn't returned to the field since. Senior David Lerom, who made eight tackles in the Panthers' 48-6 win over Alonso last week, will make his second straight start in his place.

Madhu, one of the top player's on the Panthers' defense, averages 7.0 tackles a game, the team's third highest total.
