Plant junior quarterback Phillip Ely has received an offer to play at Ivy League Harvard, Panthers coach Robert Weiner said at Saturday's Badger Sport 7-on-7 tournament at USF.
Ely guided Plant to its second straight state title last fall, throwing for 1,833 yards and 20 touchdowns.
An Ivy League school, Harvard doesn't give athletic scholarships, but Ely can receive a scholarship based on academics. Ely owns a 4.8 weighted GPA.
According to Weiner, the 6-foot-1, 187-pound Ely also has offers from Florida International, Iowa State and Ohio.
Contrary to another news service report, Ely does not have an offer from Arizona State. But, Weiner said, ASU and Wake Forest are "going to offer."
