TAMPA — With less than three minutes to play with JV players in, King defensive lineman Reggie Austin burst through the Alonso line, ripped the ball away from a Raven ball carrier and ran 35 yards for the winning touchdown.

King 20, a stunned Alonso 18.

Neither squad could do much offensively early as both quarterbacks struggled. Ish Witter churned up yards, collecting 57 on 12 carries. King running back Greg Thompson provided most of the Lions’ first-half offensive yardage.

A 20-yard Thompson run late in the second quarter set up the Lion’s first-half score, an 11-yard touchdown pass from Darian Wright to Javontee Brice.

Alonso quickly responded,  but a dropped pass on the conversion left the game tied at 6 at the half.

The tie didn’t last long as Witter returned the second-half kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown.

Witter put the Ravens ahead, seemingly for good, early in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard scoring plunge.
