DUNEDIN — Largo picked up from where it left off last season, with a strong showing in its preseason game Friday.
Largo was led by quarterback Donavan Hale, who threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 30 yards. He had help from receiver Reggie Campbell, who caught seven passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Jarvis Stewart had a good game as well, rushing for 81 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns.
Largo opened scoring in the first quarter with a 75-yard punt return from Raheem Harvey.
Dunedin immediately answered on a 62-yard touchdown pass from Givanni Gonzalez to Janeiro Crankfield.
After that it was all Largo. Harvey scored again on a 3-yard touchdown reception as the Packers took a 20-6 lead into halftime. After halftime Largo exploded for 26 points in the third quarter, all on rushing touchdowns.
In addition to Stewart’s touchdowns, Jacorrie Riley scored on a 20-yard run, and Frankie Hernandez scored on a 7-yard run to cap off the scoring.
