TAMPA — Robinson first-year coach Shawn Taylor smiled, then hesitated before answering the question.
Which unit stood out in Robinson’s 51-6 preseason victory against Osceola on Friday night? The offense or the defense?
“The coordinators would have me for lunch if I picked one of those,” said Taylor, who replaced the retired Mike DePue. “They both got a lot of work to do.”
In a game matching 2012 playoff teams, Robinson dominated, scoring the final 42 points, highlighted by a 27-point fourth quarter.
Osceola held a 57-31 edge in plays from scrimmage, but the Warriors lost three of seven fumbles, two returned for scores by Damon Willis and Tre’von Hosley.
“I thought we played fairly well the first half,” Osceola coach George Palmer said. “We didn’t play so well the second half (and) turned the ball over way too many times. Robinson played a very physical brand of football, the kind that hopefully our kids are trying to do.”
Robinson quarterbacks Darius Autry and Travis Forehand combined to complete 9 of 14 passes for 176 yards and three scores. Aivory Foster had two TDs for the Knights.
Jamil Morris scored for Osceola.
