Strawberry Crest and new coach John Kelly started to put last year’s terrible season to rest with Friday’s victory.
Josh Hyde returned a kickoff for a touchdown, while his brother Tristan threw three TDs for the Chargers, who also rode a clutch and opportunistic defense to the shutout.
The Patriots were playing their first game under coach Todd Donohoe, who was Strawberry Crest’s first coach.
But Freedom made too many mistakes to spoil drives and gave up to many big plays to the Chargers.
