Hernando junior LB/FB Jeremiah Jackson picked up his first college offer, from Purdue, Jackson said Wednesday in a text message.

Jackson is one of the North Suncoast’s top 2014 prospects. The 6-foot, 215-pound hard hitter is one of Tampa Bay’s leading linebackers, with 128 tackles and three sacks. He’s also rushed for 445 yards and two touchdowns to help Hernando reach the playoffs for a third consecutive season.

He earned first-team all-North Suncoast honors last season,

Jackson has also received interest form Florida State, Miami and Iowa State, among others.

He’s the third Leopard to receive a Division I scholarship offer, after senior LB Darren Hambrick and senior ATH Tyrail Hawkins.
