Ravens softball star Jessie Warren bound for FSU

Alonso junior softball star Jessica "Jessie" Warren, a Times first-team All-Hillsborough County pick the past two seasons, confirmed Tuesday night she has committed to FSU.

A lifelong Seminoles fan, Warren attended a pair of FSU camps last year, picking up her offer after the second.

"Growing up I was just a fan of their football team, basketball, everything," she said. "My family just grew up...liking them."

Arguably the county's most complete infielder, Warren totaled 15 home runs and only five errors the previous two years. She helped lead the Ravens to the Class 8A playoffs last season, hitting .391 with nine homers, 19 RBIs, four doubles and four triples. In five games this season, she's hitting .667 with a homer and two RBIs.
