Alonso QB and Guy Toph winner C.J. Bennett took a trip to Murray State Thursday and will make an official visit to South Alabama this weekend.
Bennett, who made the trip with Hillsborough RB Rodney Johnson, visited USF last weekend, but didn't leave with an offer. His father, Chip, said East Carolina, new USF coach Skip Holtz's old school, has requested tape on his son, but with just six days before signing day, it's difficult to predict if anything will materialize.
Bennett threw for more than 6,000 yards and 60 touchdowns in his high school career.
