Former Blake standout tight end Michael McFarland will transfer from the University of Florida, Times' Gators reporter Antonya English is reporting.

McFarland, a lean 6-foot-6, 235-pound target that played a variety of positions at Blake, dressed for three games for the Gators last season by did not play. He sat out Florida's spring game with an ankle injury.

"Michael and I have come to the conclusion that it is in his best interest to transfer from the University of Florida," Gators coach Will Muschamp said in a press release. "We wish him the best as he continues his career somewhere else."

McFarland was ranked the No. 12 tight end recruit in the nation by Scout.com
