Tampa Catholic cornerback Jeremi Wilkes, whose team faces Jacksonville Bolles for the Class 2B state title Saturday, has committed to Syracuse, Coach Bob Henriquez confirmed today.

Wilkes (5-foot-9, 180 pounds) reportedly also had offers from FSU, Louisville, Iowa and Rutgers. This season, he has 27 tackles and three interceptions.

"I found out I guess Thursday of last week," Henriquez said. "He wanted to kind of keep it under the radar for whatever reason."
