Two Ridgewood standouts missed Thursday's 44-0 loss to Sunlake as a precaution.

Rams coach Kent Reed said Friday that running back Cameron Rodriguez and linebacker Ralphy Dawkins did not play because they were suffering from a minor injuries.

"They tweaked themselves with minor muscles pulls," Reed said. "I didn't want to risk it."

Both are expected to be ready for next Friday's game against Land O'Lakes.

Asked what he took away from the loss, Reed noted the improvements made by rising Sunlake.

"Sunlake is not a bad football team," Reed said. "They have some athletes. They're not the same team we've seen the last few years."
