RUSKIN — Robinson’s Blake Rice and JJ Hubbard helped the Knights clinch a Class 2A playoff spot with a rout over Lennard.

Robinson came out strong, as running back Hubbard scored from 48 and 44 yards on the Knights’ first two drives. Before the quarter ended, the Knights held a four-touchdown advantage, thanks in part to quarterback Rice, who found leading receiver Ruben Gonzalez from 15 yards then connected once more with Benzel McKever.

In the second quarter, Rice continued where he left off in the first and wound up going 12-for-20 with 203 yards and a third touchdown, to Frankie Williams.

“Our idea is to start playing at a championship level. The first quarter we did that and in the second quarter we didn’t,” Robinson coach Mike DePue said.
