Roland Moldovan tabbed as AATL's boys soccer coach

Academy at the Lakes athletic director Tom Haslem has announced the hiring of Roland Moldovan as the Wildcats' new boys varsity soccer coach.

Moldovan is a veteran of the Fusion Futbol Club of Tampa Bay, having guided three teams -- the under-16s in 2008, the under-16s in 2009 and the under-17s in 2010 -- to the Florida Youth Soccer Association State Cup final four. In 2009, Moldovan was the coach of the Fusion's under-15 team that was a finalist at the State Cup.

Moldovan is a former Romanian youth national team player. He replaces Flaubert Augustin, who spent two seasons as the Wildcats boys soccer coach.

This job is Moldovan's first at the high school level.
