It looks as if Rutgers is trying to build a recruiting pipeline to Dade City.

The Scarlet Knights offered two Pasco athletes after a coach watched Pasco beat Land O’Lakes in Friday night’s spring game.

OT Jamal Mention and ATH Jayvaughn Myers both landed offers from Rutgers, Pirates coach Tom McHugh announced over the weekend.

This was the first college offer for Myers, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect for the class of 2016. Mention is a mammoth, 6-foot-6, 313-pound blocker and also holds an offer from South Alabama.

Rutgers’ roster already includes one Pasco alum: former North Suncoast player of the year Janarion Grant.
