David Emmanuel, Pasco RB (6-foot, 180 pounds)

The latest: Emmanuel’s wait is over. The senior-to-be picked up his first offer Thursday, from Rutgers, Pirates coach Tom McHugh said via Twitter. Middle Tennessee State and others have recently stopped by to evaluate the powerful running back. Rutgers has also offered Pasco teammates Janarion Grant (athlete) and Joey Ivie (defensive line).

Offers: Rutgers

Last season: Emmanuel was Pasco County’s leading rusher with 1,325 yards and 19 touchdowns while averaging 10 yards per carry. He also caught two touchdown passes and scored once on special teams.

Bottom line: Emmanuel doesn’t have blazing speed, but he’s one of Tampa Bay’s most powerful runners. He was a first-team all-North Suncoast and all-Suncoast selection by the Times last season.
