St. Petersburg Catholic running back Ryan Green, the Times' top-rated prospect in the 2013 class, was offered Monday evening by Auburn, and Tuesday morning by Virginia.
The Tigers and Cavaliers are now in contention with a strong group of early suitors for the two-time 1,000-yard rusher, including Florida, FSU, Miami, USF and Notre Dame.
The Gators and Tigers join South Carolina as SEC schools that are interested in Green, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound speedster. Miami and Virginia Tech are other ACC schools that have offered.
Green's success on the football field this past season has spilled over to hoops season, where he is averaging 22.4 points a game, second in Pinellas County.
