Is St. Petersburg Catholic's Ryan Green the best running back in the state of Florida?
He made that claim, on the field, Sunday at the Nike Football Training Camp in Orlando, winning MVP honors.
In a stacked and loaded field that included American Heritage running back and recent Oklahoma commit Greg Bryant, Green stood out running with the ball and blocking.
As a result, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound speedster -- who will compete at state track in the 100 this weekend -- earned an invite to The Opening, a camp held at the NIKE campus in Eugene, Ore., in July that brings together the best performers from the NFTC camps held this spring.
Green's father, Vader, said he thought the NFTC was as competitive a combine as his son has been to, rivaling the Under Armour combine held in January.
Green, who has more than 20 offers, is expected to attend The Opening, which last year featured one local -- Berkeley Prep's Nelson Agholor.
