Seminole cross country runner Jacob Hudak, the Times 2011 Pinellas County runner of the year, signed with Nova Southeastern University this past week.

Hudak also was considering Alabama-Huntsville, Auburn and Queens.

During his senior season, Hudak took over as the Warhawks' No. 1 runner after Chase Sutton graduated and led the team to titles at the conference and district meets and a top-four finish at the region and state meets. At the Class 4A state meet, Hudak took fourth with a time of 15 minutes, 43 seconds. It was the first time he had placed at a state meet and it was the highest finish by any county boys runner regardless of classification.

Nova Southeastern finished third at the Sunshine State Conference meet and sixth at the NCAA Division II South region meet this past season.
