Longtime Seminole softball coach Mark DeRuzzo picked up his 300th career head coaching victory Saturday when the Warhawks' defeated Countryside 14-4 at the Palm Harbor University Spring Tournament.

DeRuzzo was named the Warhawks' softball coach in 1995, and in 15 seasons at Seminole, he has guided the Warhawks to 10 playoff appearances. Seminole, which made the postseason each of the last three seasons, has won three straight district titles under DeRuzzo. The Warhawks made their deepest playoff run in 1997 when they advanced to the region final.
