Here’s a name to remember as recruiting season heats up:
Blake Nold.
A senior center at Wharton, the 6-foot-1, 275-pounder is drawing interest from numerous schools, notably USF, FAU, Georgia Southern, South Alabama, Troy and Western Kentucky.
To date, though, the three-year starter has yet to receive a scholarship offer.
“He’s gettiing a lot of interest; it’s just that nobody has pulled the trigger,” Wildcats offensive coordinator Craig Rainey said.
Rainey had another lineman in a similar situation last year, when Hunter Stout was without an offer from a Division I-A program until Janurary. He ended up signing with Louisville.
“Blake’s got a good motor that keeps him going all the time,” Rainey said. “He gets to the second level real well, has good mobility and very good fundamentals.”
