East Lake and Berkeley Prep are among the Florida High School Athletic Association's academic team champions for the spring. East Lake was tops for Class 8A, while Berkeley Prep led all of Class 4A for the second straight year.

The team aggregate cumulative GPA is submitted for nomination, and the FHSAA "recognizes teams in each of the association’s 22 sanctioned sports and eight recognized sports."

Winners for individual sports were also named in each classification: East Lake (8A) and Keswick Christian (2A) in baseball; Tarpon Springs (6A) and Berkeley Prep (4A) in softball; Jesuit (2A) in boys tennis;  Berkeley (2A) in boys track and boys volleyball; East Lake (4A) and Holy Names (2A) in girls track; and Tarpon Springs in flag football.

Several other local teams were among the best in individual sports and overall classes. View the complete lists here.
