A few recent recruiting nuggets from across Tampa Bay:

Land O’Lakes DE Shaheed Salmon landed his first college offer, from South Dakota State. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound senior led the Gators with 117 tackles and 8.5 sacks during his team’s turnaround season.

Georgia Tech became the most recent program to offer Tampa Bay Tech ATH Deon Cain a scholarship. Cain, a four-star junior, also holds offers from Florida State, USF and UCF.

Rivals’ latest list of the top 250 national prospects for the class of 2014 includes these locals: East Lake WR Artavis Scott (No. 68, Clemson), East Lake OL Mason Cole (No. 129, Michigan), Lakewood OL Isaiah Wynn (No. 145, Georgia), Armwood DB Kyle Gibson (No. 196, Vanderbilt), SPC OL Reilly Gibbons (No. 212, Miami) and Tampa Catholic ATH T.J. Harrell (No. 246, undecided).

Former Plant City lineman Jordan Prestwood is ESPN’s No. 11 junior college prospect. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive tackle is at Arizona Western College and has offers from FSU and Auburn, among others.

Temple is scheduled to make in-home visits to Jefferson receivers Derrick Ingram and Ventell Bryant today. Georgia and Miami are among the schools that have made recruiting stops in Tampa for 2014 and 2015 targets this week.
