Sharks' McQuilken headed to UNF

Riverview rising senior golfer Julia McQuilken, the reigning Class 2A, District 11 champion, has committed to the University of North Florida, Sharks coach Angela Slater announced.

A first-team pick on the Times' all-county girls team last fall, McQuilken had a career round at the district tournament at Heritage Isles last October, collecting eight birdies en route to a 6-under-par 66. She finished seventh at the following week's Region 4 tournament.

UNF, which hired a women's golf coach in May, begins NCAA competition in 2012.
