Sickles FS/LB Adekunle "AK" Olusanya, the Gryphons' top tackler last season and second-leading tackler in 2011, told the Tampa Bay Times Monday evening he has committed to Division I-AA Furman University.

An honors student and the last of four boys born to Nigerian-born parents, Olusanya (5-foot-10, 200 pounds) totaled 107 stops, two sacks and three caused fumbles for the Gryphons (8-3) last fall. A free safety as a junior, he had 93 tackles and two interceptions.

He said he had offers from several mid-major Division I and I-AA programs including Western Kentucky, Ball State, Western Michigan, Air Force, Charleston Southern, UAB and Kent State.
