Sickles point guard Jordan Davis, a Monmouth commitment whose team hosts Clearwater in Saturday's Class 5A region title game, has been named the Florida Athletic Coaches Association's MVP for District 13 (Hillsborough County).

Davis (14.7 ppg, 7.9 apg) edged Tampa Prep's Jay Bowie and Newsome's Samal Shepherd for the award, given to the district's top senior. Additionally, Davis was named the district's top player for 5A schools.

Earning player of the year honors in other classifications were Bowie (2A), Seffner Christian's Devin Paularinne (1A), Tampa Catholic's Lashawn Harrison (3A), Blake's Andre Smith (4A) and Plant's Michael Frazier (6A).

District coach of the year honors went to Cambridge's Scott Thompson (1A), Tampa Prep's Joe Fenlon (2A), Tampa Catholic's Don Dziagwa (3A), Blake's Winston Davis (4A), Newsome's Jon Mackey (co-5A), Sickles' Renaldo Garcia (co-5A) and Wharton's Tommy Tonelli (6A).

Earning academic all-state honors were Frazier (6A), Tampa Prep's Jamal Cherry (2A), Newsome's Trent Mackey (5A).
