A turbulent recruiting season for Chris Nahat has culminated with the prolific Sickles receiver committing to Division I-AA Sacred Heart, Gryphons coach Pat O'Brien said.
Nahat (6-foot-2, 174 pounds) is set to formally sign his paperwork with the Pioneers any day, O'Brien said. He received extensive interest from several I-AA programs, with Youngstown State even making a scholarship offer before rescinding, according to O'Brien.
Nahat's breakout senior season included 36 catches for 762 yards and eight touchdowns, which helped lead the Gryphons (8-3) to the program's second playoff berth.
Sacred Heart, which competes in the Northeast Conference, is located in Fairfield, Conn.
