Signings roundup from Fivay, Zephyrhills and Anclote

Some football (and cheerleading!) recruiting updates from the North Suncoast:

• Zephyrhills MLB Tylar Hochstetler signed with Massachusetts Maritime Academy  this week. The 5-foot-6, 170-pound Hochstetler earned second-team all-conference honors by recording 57 tackles and seven sacks for the 6-4 Bulldogs.

• Anclote lineman Terry Linton signed with Kentucky Wesleyan on Tuesday, Sharks coach Matt Wicks announced on Twitter.

Linton, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound senior, was a two-way standout who led the Sharks to their first ever playoff appearance in the fall. He earned first-team all-North Suncoast honors by leading Anclote with 10 pancake blocks on offense and racking up 37 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.

• Fivay cheerleader Dana Schaefer has signed a full scholarship to Wallace State College, Falcons athletic director Linda McQuade said in an email. Wallace State is a community college in Hanceville, Ala.
