It has been a rough couple of nights for Mitchell soccer.
The latest was a 2-1 loss at Pasco on Tuesday that ended with a penalty shot.
Pasco’s Alex Garcia was taken down inside Mitchell’s 18-yard line awarding the penalty shot to the Pirates. Eric Garcia booted it in for the winner.
The game was scoreless until midway through the second half when Pasco’s Jose Flores took a pass from Danny Corona and knocked it high into the Mustangs’ goal for a 1-0 lead.
Mitchell fought back late and tied it at 1 with a goal from David Vasquez.
Pasco (2-0) has two more games this week while Mitchell (2-1-1) must regroup after a tie with Wesley Chapel on Monday night followed by its first loss.
