Softball super seven
Results through Wednesday

1. Wharton (7-1): Wildcats fell to 25th in MaxPreps national poll after 1-0 loss to Bloomingdale.

2. Chamberlain (7-2): Chiefs remain at No. 2 spot via quality wins (Crest, Bloomingdale, Plant).

3. Strawberry Crest (9-1): Wednesday’s 5-2 triumph vs. error-prone Durant was a statement win.

4. Freedom (9-1): Patriots scored four in top of seventh to rally past Chamberlain last Friday.

5. Bloomingdale (8-2): Surging Bulls topped Wharton, Alonso, East Bay in five-day span.

6. Plant (5-3): Brutal upcoming stretch of district games could determine Panthers’ season.

7. Durant (6-3): Defense crippling Cougars’ hopes of making postseason, much less postseason run.
