Taylor Sabol struck out 12 and allowed eight hits to lead Palm Harbor University in a 4-1 victory over St. Petersburg in the Pinellas County Athletic Conference softball championship game.

It was the first time the Hurricanes have won the conference title since 2008. In all, PHU has won six of the past 10.

The Hurricanes (23-2), who have not lost to a county opponent this season, gave Sabol all the offensive support she needed with three runs in the first inning.

Each team scored a run in the sixth.

PHU had 14 hits, including a triple by Torey Scott and a double by Samantha McCloskey.
