Displaying the defensive ferocity that nearly landed them in the playoffs, the Spoto Spartans (8-3) held Class 6A Longwood Lyman to 54 total yards in a 52-0 rout Saturday in the Gridiron Challenge Foundation Bowl Series at Winter Springs High.

Offensively, the Spartans amassed 473 total yards, with quarterback James Brown throwing for four touchdowns. Using roughly a dozen ball carriers, including some offensive linemen late in the game, the Spartans collected 253 yards on the ground.

Lyman had minus-22 yards rushing.
