Former Tarpon Springs WR Montel Gamble has committed to Division I-AA Norfolk State, Spongers coach George Kotis said today.

He chose the Spartans over Morgan State.

Gamble currently attends West Hills Community College (Calif). He is a 2006 Tarpon Springs alum.

“He’s 6-foot-2, 180 pounds and catches the deep ball real well,” Kotis said. “It’s been a long journey for him. He battled through the J.C. ranks. He’s a very high-quality, high-character kid.”

This week, a few current Spongers also are likely to sign letters of intent.

One of them is Clay Paino, an OL who is committed to Brown.
