Spoto football coach Dale Caparaso, who led his Spartans to a 10-7 win over Alonso last week, was named the Buccaneers high school coach of the week.

Bucs head coach Raheem Morris will present Caparaso with a certificate and personalized football following Thursday morning's practice at One Buc Place. Before the practice, Caparaso will receive a tour of the team's training facility.

The coach will also receive a $1,000 check for his football program and be featured in a Buccaneers.com segment.

Spoto's defense had a better week than the Bucs, holding Alonso's air-attack to just one touchdown. Spartans senior John Akins registered three sacks and junior Donald Smith had two interceptions. The fine defensive effort paved the way for junior Carlos Andrade's 23-yard game-winning field goal.
