Spring game-breakers: Equipped with “18 strong” on the roster, Canterbury showed a fast-paced, up-tempo offense and a stout defense. Sophomore Dontrell Green did most of his damage on the ground in the first half and scored on a 5-yard touchdown. …Freshman quarterback Josh Belton moved the ball well in the air for the Crusaders, consistently finding Hunter Coia and Zion Roland on seam routes. …Belton also rushed for a touchdown and O’Shon Allen’s fourth-quarter score effectively iced the game. …Shorecrest flipped between quarterbacks Sam Grant and Travis Dugan; both had solid moments but Grant was picked off twice by Roland. … An illegal participation call nullified Shorecrest’s touchdown from Grant to Cooper Wolf.

Audible 1: “We were going to go up tempo, sink or swim tonight because that’s what we’ve worked so hard on. These 18 kids showed their toughness and conditioning. And they are mostly underclassmen so I’m looking forward to the summer with this group.” — Canterbury coach Bill Jones

Audible 2: “Dontrell is the emotional leader on our team offensively and defensively. He is a heck of a football player and when he gets rolling, everyone follows his lead.” — Jones
