At East Lake
East Lake 40, Osceola 16

Spring game-breakers: East Lake quarterback Pete DiNovo has been in coach Bob Hudson’s system for two full seasons  and it shows with his poise and command of the offense. The rising senior finished 11-of-16 for 157 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half. He also ran the ball six times for 74 yards. …George Campbell caught three of DiNovo’s passes for 76 yards, one of which was a 64-yard bomb. Campbell’s emergence will take pressure off rising junior star Artavis Scott, allowing for more one-on-one situations. …The Eagles defense tallied two sacks, an interception, five passes defensed and forced two fumbles — recovering one in the first half. The front line struggled early, but heavily pressured Osceola quarterback Andrew Matyk late in the second quarter. …Osceola’s Andra Walls and Jamil Morris offer the Warriors a powerful one-two punch in the backfield, combining for 75 yards on 13 carries. …The junior varsity squads finished the game. The score was 34-8 when they entered..

Did you know? Hudson’s son, Jake, a rising sophomore, will be the starting quarterback for the Eagles’ JV in the fall.
