Score: St. Petersburg Catholic 55, Indian Rocks Christian 0

Spring game-breakers: Rising senior running back Ryan Green is the consummate professional. Not only does the highly touted recruit race past defenders with ease, but he’s willing to be the lead blocker for other runners. Green finished with six carries for 159 yards — 121 of them in the first half, including a 72-yard touchdown run — and two scores. …Rising sophomore Jaquan Fuller added 136 rushing yards on nine carries with four touchdowns, along with two catches for 16 yards and another score. Green was Fuller’s lead blocker on a 30-yard run, making the score 28-0 in the second quarter. …IRC’s rising sophomore tight end, Fisher Jones, was the lone bright spot for the Golden Eagles, with three catches for 39 yards.

Did you know? SPC rising senior Justin Piazza missed the past two seasons due to a severe neck injury. The hard-nosed linebacker played the entire game, racking up 11 totals tackles.

Audible 1: “We lost 15 seniors and I wanted to get the young guys some experience so they can see what playing football at the varsity level is all about.” — IRC coach Mark Buchanan

Audible 2: “I don’t know about that. He’s a puppy still, but he’s pretty scary, isn’t he?” — SPC coach Steve Dudley on Fuller being a better runner than Green
