Springstead leading tackler Josh Santana signed with Pace University today, joining fellow Eagles teammate Brian Beeker at the Division II school in Pleasantville, N.Y.
Santana registered 118 tackles, an average of 9.8 a game, to lead the Springstead defense. He also had two sacks. As a fullback on offense, Santana carried 17 times for 78 yards as a senior.
Santana was a St. Petersburg Times' All-North Suncoast second team selection as a linebacker. In 2010, Springstead finished 6-6 and advanced to the Class 4A regional semifinals for the first time since 2004 and only the second time in school history.
Beeker, who rushed for 1,251 yards and threw 855 yards as the Eagles' quarterback, signed with Pace back in February.
