Springstead’s do-it-all senior, Pedro Estrada, has orally committed to Norwich University, Eagles assistant Dustin Kupcik announced Monday evening on Twitter.

Estrada, a 5-foot-8, 169-pound running back and defensive back, was one of the Eagles’ most versatile players during their 9-2 season and run to the district title.

He rushed for two touchdowns and averaged 4.1 yards per carry this fall, caught another TD and also returned one of his three interceptions for a score. He ranked third on the team with 82 tackles.

And earned District 10 all-star status from the Florida Athletic Coaches Association and first-team all-North Suncoast honors from the Times.

He also received interest from several NCAA Division II schools.

Norwich is an NCAA Division III program in Northfield, Vt. The Cadets finished 7-3 last season.
