Springstead senior Mikayla Bogulski has signed with Bucknell University, a Division I school located in Lewisburg, Pa.

Bogulski will run cross country and compete in both the indoor and outdoor track seasons, specializing in the 800 meter and 1,500 meter runs, at Bucknell.

She also considered Johns Hopkins, Tufts, Troy, Buffalo, South Dakota and Oberlin.

Bogulski placed fourth in the 800 meter run at districts as a junior and fifth at regionals. She was also a part of Springstead's gold-medal 4 x 800 meter relay team that won districts and regionals and placed tenth at states.  Bogulski is a three-year state qualifier in track and field. As a sophomore at Central, Bogulski was the regional and district champion in the 800. She was the district champ in the 800 her freshman year at Central.

In cross country, Bogulski was 11th at the district meet her senior season after completing the 5K race in 20 minutes, 41 seconds. She ran 20:24 to come in 16th place at regionals and placed 78th at the Class 3A state cross country meet after crossing the finish line in 20 minutes, 59 seconds. Bogulski was named to the St. Petersburg Times' all-North Suncoast girls cross country first team following her senior year.

Bogulski is receiving a combination academic and athletic scholarship to attend Bucknell. She holds a 3.98 unweighted GPA and is fourth in her class at Springstead.
