St. Petersburg Catholic's Ryan Green gets Under Armour jersey

St. Petersburg Catholic running back and Florida State commit Ryan Green received his Under Armour All America jersey Friday afternoon during a ceremony in the school’s media center.

Green, who has missed all but the opening game this season due to a torn labrum, said he will play in the Under Armour All American game, which is Friday, Jan. 4 at Tropicana Field.

“I’ve just been rehabbing and studying, waiting to get back on the field,’’ Green said. “I’m excited about it.’’

In his only game this season, Green had five carries for 189 yards and four touchdowns. He said he will play on the basketball team this season. He is also hoping to play in the Barons final game of the season in two weeks against Calvary Christian, pending doctor approval.

“It’s senior night and I just want to be out there,’’ Green said. “We’ll have to see. Even if it’s just for one play, I would take that.’’
